Hoosier Hacienda in Hot Water!
Mexican Restaurant, used to racy or humorous billboard advertisements, might have gone too far this time! Hacienda’s Hot Water in Hoosier State:An Indiana restaurant that was hoping to build a cult following failed miserably -- and has pulled an ad campaign that made reference to the mass suicide in Jonestown, Guyana, more than three decades ago. The Hacienda restaurant put up billboards saying, "We're like a cult with better Kool-Aid," a reference to the cyanide-laced drink that Jim Jones forced his followers to drink. For the record that Jones cult originated in downtown Indianapolis. To drive home the point, a glass also read "to die for." In an early contender for understatement of the year, a rep for the eatery said, "We made a mistake."
